RI (Religious Instruction) |
|
Religious Instruction (RI) is conducted in class groups at Dalby State School on a Thursday morning. The Dalby Ministers’ Fraternal is responsible for the coordination of RI in the 3 State schools in Dalby. RI volunteers teach an agreed Christian Education Program (which draws many parallels with our social skilling program) and have approval from the Department of Child Safety to work with children.
Teachers remain with their classes to assist in supervision. The vast majority of Dalby State School parents support their children’s participation in our school RI program.
When a child enrols at Dalby State School, parents complete enrolment forms which ask for permission to participate in RI. Students who do not participate move to different class and are set alternative independent school work to complete under the supervision of that teacher. At any stage during the year, parents may opt to enter or withdraw their child from participating in RI through written advice forwarded to the school office.

Positive school-wide behaviour management as with all learning, social skills and school routines need to be taught. Each week teachers will be advocating a new social skill and a school routine – “cool tool” - within their classrooms. These are then practised in a variety of settings.
Cool tool: Use the correct First Aid procedure!
