Administration Report: As attached
Bookscheme: Nil
Instrumental Music: Meeting expected to occur 7th May 2009.
Tuckshop: The search is ongoing for a new Tuckshop Treasurer. T Melville is to contact K Salter as to what the job entails so we can include a comprehensive list in the school newsletter. Advertising is to continue in the newsletter until a new treasurer can be found.
Uniforms: Discussion regarding the difficulty in obtaining Leichhardt socks and the possibility of changing to a colour that is readily available. Discussions also on the problems associated with the culottes, dresses and unisex shorts. The dresses in particular are expensive due to the specialised make and materials but this has also ensured a more enduring product. Susan Carter suggested and it was agreed that the uniforms remain unchanged until after the 150th anniversary in 2011. However, the unisex knit shorts will be replaced by the microfibre shorts once current stocks are depleted. There was further discussion regarding the tucking in of shirts and it was agreed that the tucking in is to stay as it represents learning and respect in the school environment.
General Business
150th Anniversary: Lyn McKeon is taking the reins in the preparations for the 150th anniversary in 2011 (The school was officially opened on 1st June 1861). Grants are being sought for a book to commemorate the anniversary. A committee is to be established of current and past school members and Lyn has suggested applying to the general public through the newsletter and newspaper articles to garner community interest. The P&C approved the formation of the anniversary committee to organise the celebrations and all fundraising associated with the event.
Creekside Markets: The coordinators for 2009 are Christine Gerard and Wendy Sheahan. A Creekside Markets meeting will be held shortly so year level stall coordinators can be organised as soon as possible.
Mothers Day Stall: The Mothers Day stall is going ahead on Thursday 7th May. All prices are between $1 and $5 to make the gifts affordable for the children. Kerri Hosking will run it on the day in place of Karen Liddle who is unable to make it.
